Fieldwork, is an essential component in many academic and professional disciplines, including anthropology, sociology, biology, and geology. Fieldwork is a research methodology that involves the collection of data and observations directly in the field, meaning in the natural or social environment where the phenomena of interest occur, in order to obtain authentic and contextualized information.
Fieldwork allows researchers to gain a deeper and more contextualized understanding of the phenomena being studied, promoting an empirical and often qualitative approach. During fieldwork, researchers may conduct interviews, participant observations, environmental surveys, and material sampling, among other techniques. This work is fundamental for collecting primary and authentic data, significantly contributing to the validity and relevance of scientific research.
The WE PROPOSE project gives absolute importance to "field work" according to which it represents all the data collection activity, the organization of the interviews and the planned focuses and the planning and verification of the work progress, with regards to the investigations which include a mixed-methods methodology.
