WE-PROPOSE. Processes, policies and networks in support of women's returnees to Tunisia and Morocco

A PRIN project of relevant national interest promoted by the University of Rome LUMSA with the University of Catania and the University of Bologna, started in December 2023 and will end in December 2025.

The project is funded by the Ministry of University and Research, through the PNRR 2022, Social Sciences and Humanities macrosector, sector SH3: The Social World and its Diversity.

WE-PROPOSE investigates the return processes of migrant women, in particular Tunisian and Moroccan women who, after a period of stay in Italy and Europe, decide to return to their country of origin for various personal and family reasons, as well as the prospect of developing entrepreneurial and local development projects.

Reflecting therefore on the impact that female return migration has on the cultural, social and economic contexts in the territories of return, WE-PROPOSE intends to observe how regulatory devices and support networks, at the national and international level, favour or impede return processes with a focus on women's experiences, in order to offer a contribution that looks at the recognition and improvement of these devices, from a sociological, legal and cultural point of view.
